2012 NCAA Championship Game Prediction

The Kentucky Wildcats beat their arch rivals, the Louisville Cardinals, in the first Final Four game Saturday night, and are the clear cut favorites to be cutting down the net on Monday night. Kentucky took command of the game from the start against the Cardinals, but were unable to pull away until the last few minutes when it became a dunk-fest for future number one pick, freshman Anthony Davis.

Davis will be the key on Monday night because he will be going up against Thomas Robinson and the Kansas Jayhawks who just barely squeaked by Ohio State in their Final Four game. Bill Self has worked his magic once again with this Kansas team getting to the NCCA Championship for the second time in four years. Kansas will try to be physical with Kentucky in the post, specifically Davis in the post, but I don’t believe it will be able to slow down the Wildcats. This game will be a rematch of four years ago for the coaches (when Calipari was coaching Memphis) when Kansas won after miracle shot by Mario Chalmers in the final seconds to force over time.

Final Four Saturday

What is Final Four Saturday? To some people in America it means absolutely nothing, but to the others its what they live for. The Final Four features the four teams from each region up against each other. This year, the four teams remaining are Louisville, Kentucky, Ohio State, and Kansas. The match ups are, in state rivals Kentucky Wildcats Vs Louisville Cardinals and Ohio State Vs Kansas.

Preview: #6 Cincinnati vs. #2 Ohio State

In the late matchup of tonight’s Sweet 16 game features in state rivals, The Cincinnati Bearcats taking on The Ohio State Buckeyes. Although, these two teams have not played each other since 2006, they look very evenly matched. Ohio State is the early favored pick, but just because this is the Bearcats first Sweet 16 appearance since 2001, don’t count the Cats out.

Cincinnati Breakdown: The Bearcats will look to get a hot shooting start from Cashmere Wright, Dion Dixon, and 3-point machine Sean Kilpatrick. If those three can manage to get off to a hot start then that will cause OSU major problems. Inside The Cats will look for their big man Yancy Gates to grab both offense and defensive rebounds. The Bearcats have yet to score over 65 points in their two tournament games, that could possibly cause serious problems.

Ohio State Breakdown: The Buckeyes will look to go down low to sophomore center Jared Sullinger, who leads the bucks in scoring this year. The Bucks will also look for 3-point shooting from sophomore guard Aaron Craft and senior forward William Bufford. If the Buckeyes control the paint like they are able to tonight, which includes taking care of the boards, they should earn the right to play in the Elite Eight.

Tonight should be an interesting game.
